04 Nov CSEI Customer Service Retail & Hospitality Workshop
Last week, on the 28th October, we were delighted to host our first Customer Service Workshop for Business Owners and Managers in The Silver Tassie Hotel, Letterkenny.
Over 20 dedicated Owner/Operators attended the workshop with a mix from Tourism, Retail, Community and Hospitality.
The Workshop focused on retail and tourism customer service, with expert speakers including our own Charlie Boyle, Tommy Higgins (formerly of Ticketmaster), Shalina Alabaksh (retail customer service expert) and Máire Aine Gardiner (Fáilte Ireland).
Colm Maguire, a research consultant who most recently worked with Amazon, carried out a digital survey of Owner/Operators during the Workshop on Tuesday, with feedback ready for participants at the end of the day. Delegates reported a strong Social Media connection as well as being supportive of their Communities, and among the findings were that 45% of those businesses present were not satisfied at all with their staff training. According to Colm “This represents a potential weakness in the overall offer of the Wild Atlantic Way and is certainly food for thought.”
Maire Aine Gardiner of Fáilte Ireland explained about the start of the WAW being Malin Head and about the signature points along the route – “The Wild Atlantic Way requires the businesses and providers to ensure their product knowledge is excellent.”
Tommy Higgins who established the Ticketmaster brand in Ireland, UK and Europe presented Building your Brand at our Workshop.
We would also like to thank McDaid’s Football Special, Chef Martin Anderson of the Moonshine Coffee Shop and the Letterkenny crafts & design studio for their generosity. Our gifts bags were presented to and well received by each of the attendees of our Workshop.
